This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the Site, contact us, or do business with us, how we use and share that information, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Inquiries and correspondence. When you use our inquiry form or write to us at contact@numina-gallery.com, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message, including any work of art you are interested in.
- Appointments and visits. When you book a viewing, we may collect your name, contact details, and preferred dates.
- Transactions. If you acquire a work, we collect the information needed to complete the sale, invoice you, arrange shipping and insurance, and satisfy our legal obligations, such as billing and delivery addresses, payment details processed by our payment providers, and identity information where required by law.
Information collected automatically
- Log data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies. The Site uses only strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies needed for it to function. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide information about works, artists and exhibitions.
- To arrange viewings, appointments and visits to our New York and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin locations.
- To conclude and perform sales, including invoicing, shipping, insurance and provenance documentation.
- To comply with legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering, sanctions, tax and cultural-property rules that apply to the art trade.
- To send you occasional news about the gallery, if you have asked to receive it. You may opt out at any time.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
Where the law of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland applies, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into one; our legitimate interests in running the gallery and the Site; compliance with legal obligations; and your consent, where we ask for it.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only:
- with service providers who work on our behalf, such as website hosting, email, payment processing, shipping, insurance, and professional advisers, bound by confidentiality obligations;
- with artists' estates, authentication committees or registries when required to document a work's provenance, and only to the extent necessary;
- when required by law, subpoena, court order or governmental request, or to protect our rights, property or safety and those of others;
- in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization of our business, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.
4. International transfers
Numina Gallery operates in the United States and in France. Information you provide may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States or other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Correspondence about an inquiry is generally kept for up to three years after our last contact. Records relating to a sale are kept for as long as required by tax, accounting and art-market regulations, and for as long as needed to document the provenance of the work.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access, correction and deletion. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Marketing. You may opt out of gallery news at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us.

- California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@numina-gallery.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
