About Edouard Ducros

Edouard Ducros was a Post-Impressionist painter of landscapes and portraits.

He trained in the studios of Louis Gautier and Gustave Gagliardini in Marseille, and exhibited in Lyon and later in Paris.

Deeply attached to the traditions of his region, he was a friend of Paul Cézanne and of Frédéric Mistral. He chose to settle in Martigues.

After 1920 his paint grew heavier: he adopted the palette knife and the spatula to give his works greater force.

Museums: France (Aix-en-Provence, Béziers, Digne, Montpellier…).
